Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the FPT — FootballPersonalityType platform (“FPT”, “the Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use FPT.

FPT is operated from the United Kingdom. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

1. Who Can Use FPT

Minimum age — players: You must be at least 13 years old to create a player account. Players under the age of 16 are required to obtain parental or guardian consent before completing the personality questionnaire. By submitting questionnaire responses you confirm that, if you are under 16, you have obtained the required consent.

Minimum age — coaches and club administrators: You must be at least 18 years old to create a coach or club administrator account.

We reserve the right to request proof of age or parental consent at any time. Accounts found to be in breach of these age requirements will be suspended immediately.

2. Accuracy of Results

FPT generates personality profiles based on responses to the Big Five personality questionnaire. These profiles are developmental coaching tools only. They are not clinical assessments, diagnostic instruments, or guarantees of any particular personality characteristic, performance outcome, or suitability for any role.

We make no representation or warranty — express or implied — that the personality profiles, trait scores, archetype descriptions, footballer comparisons, coaching recommendations, or any other outputs generated by FPT are accurate, complete, or appropriate for any particular individual or use case.

Personality profiles must not be used as the sole or primary basis for selection decisions, squad exclusions, contract decisions, or any determination that materially affects a player's opportunities or career. FPT data is intended to supplement — not replace — the professional judgement of qualified coaches and sports professionals.

3. Ownership of Data

All data submitted to FPT — including but not limited to questionnaire responses, personality scores, player profiles, club data, branding assets, and account information — is owned by FPT — FootballPersonalityType. By submitting data to the Platform you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and use that data to operate and improve FPT.

You do not acquire any proprietary rights in data generated by FPT, including profiles, trait scores, or analytical outputs produced by our systems.

4. Prohibited Uses

You must not use FPT, or any data obtained through FPT, for any of the following purposes:

  • Commercial resale or redistribution — you may not sell, licence, sublicence, or otherwise commercially exploit any player data, profile outputs, trait scores, or analytical outputs generated by the Platform
  • Third-party data sharing — you may not share, transmit, or provide player data to any third party outside your club without the explicit written consent of the relevant player (and their parent or guardian if under 16)
  • Platform reproduction — you may not reproduce, copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the FPT Platform, its code, design, or intellectual property
  • Automated access — you may not use bots, crawlers, or automated tools to access or extract data from the Platform
  • Misrepresentation — you may not misrepresent FPT data as clinical, diagnostic, or scientifically definitive in any external communication, report, or publication

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension, legal action, or both.

5. Club Branding

FPT allows clubs to upload custom branding — including logos, badges, and colour schemes — which is applied to the player-facing experience for players attached to that club.

By uploading branding to FPT you confirm that:

  • You hold all necessary rights, licences, and permissions to use the branding on the Platform
  • The branding does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, including trademarks or registered designs
  • The branding does not include any content that is offensive, defamatory, or unlawful

Where we have reasonable grounds to believe that uploaded branding infringes third-party rights or violates these Terms, we reserve the right to remove that branding immediately and revert the affected club to the FPT default branding without prior notice. We are not liable for any disruption this causes to the club or its players.

Repeated or deliberate branding misuse may result in permanent suspension of the club account.

6. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account — player, coach, or club — at any time, with or without prior notice, where we reasonably believe that:

  • The account is being used in breach of these Terms
  • The account holder has provided false information during registration or onboarding
  • The account is involved in any fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity
  • Continued access poses a risk to the safety, security, or integrity of the Platform or other users

On suspension or termination, your account data — including questionnaire responses, personality profiles, and any associated club data — may be deleted without further notice. We are not obliged to retain or provide copies of your data following termination for cause.

7. Access to Team and Squad Data

Access to squad and team data within FPT is conditional on maintaining an active account associated with the relevant club.

If you leave a club — whether by removing yourself, being removed by a coach or administrator, or by your club account becoming inactive — you will immediately lose access to all squad-level data, including other players' profiles, team analytics, and comparative reports. This data cannot be recovered after departure.

If a club account is closed — whether through non-renewal, termination, or voluntary closure — all players associated with that club will lose access to club-contextual data. Individual player profiles may be retained on the player's personal account where applicable.

You are responsible for exporting or saving any data you require before leaving a club or allowing a subscription to lapse.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the FPT Platform — including its software, design, questionnaire content, scoring methodology, profile generation logic, and written content — is owned by or licenced to FPT — FootballPersonalityType. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

You may not reproduce, copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FPT and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive loss arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of opportunity.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100 — whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email or via an in-platform notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

The current version of these Terms is always available at footballpersonalitytype.com/terms.
